Walking in a Winter Wonderland...

The communities of Lake Anne were blanketed in snow after the first winter storm of the season made it's way through the area.
Even though the sky is a bit overcast, a stroll through the paths that surround Lake Anne is still breathtaking!

No, that is not a frozen member of the community! It is a bronze statue of Robert Simon,
founder of Lake Anne, sitting on a bench next to a snow covered Christmas tree in the plaza.

Jazz and Blues Festival

The 7th annual Jazz and Blues Festival livened up the plaza at Lake Anne Saturday with live music and an arts market.

Blues performer Sam Gunderson.

Luke, 10, and his sister Ella, 8, of Takoma Park, Maryland add droplets of paint onto water as Tom Tan of Capital Art oversees their technique.
They created colorful circles that were then swirled by Tan, in preparation of a silk scarf being laid upon it to create a unique pattern.
This technique, started in China during the 10th century, is known as floating ink art.

Summer Is Here!

Summer is well under way here at Lake Anne
With the arrival of the summer season, there is plenty to do! One of my favorite ways to enjoy both the weather and the lake is boating.
A variety of boats including canoes, kayaks and paddle boats are available for rent at the plaza. The water is calm and the views are spectacular!
