Jazz and Blues Festival

The 7th annual Jazz and Blues Festival livened up the plaza at Lake Anne Saturday with live music and an arts market.

Blues performer Sam Gunderson.

Luke, 10, and his sister Ella, 8, of Takoma Park, Maryland add droplets of paint onto water as Tom Tan of Capital Art oversees their technique.
They created colorful circles that were then swirled by Tan, in preparation of a silk scarf being laid upon it to create a unique pattern.
This technique, started in China during the 10th century, is known as floating ink art.

Julie Courtwright of Geek Chic Knits spins fiber into yarn.

Artisans selling their unique wares.

A large crowd gathered on the plaza to hear the musicians that performed throughout the day.
